Hi! My name is Chelsey Newberry & I am very excited to work with you & make your hair dreams come true! I have been in the beauty industry going on 15 years now. Aside from my work, I am a wife & a mother to two pretty awesome kids. Im originally from the south shore but settled in Swampscott Ma when we were expecting our first child & we love it here. I would say I am spontaneous, fun & always down for an adventure trying new things…. Which brings me to our next chapter in the story. When I started my career back in 2010 I began working at Vidal Sassoon where I assisted & completed extensive training as a color specialist directly under the North American Color Director of Vidal Sassoon Richie Rivera. Sassoon gave me the crucial fundamentals & knowledge of hair color, the industry & the importance of “shape & Balance”. I continued building my career until 2018 when I decided to focus my energy on one of my greatest achievements yet, Dj, my son 🥰. When we moved to Swampscott & waiting for Djs arrival I was looking for a new Salon to call home. Which is how I found Raina. Raina Morgan who was the incredible owner of Rainas Hair Color Studio welcomed me with open arms and gave me the flexibility that I needed to fit my little family. She had a wonderful team of Girls who have become family. Originally, at Rainas I was oly coloring hair… that didn’t last too long. I was finding myself more and more interested in the art of cutting hair. So i took the classes, brought in the models, and challenged myself over and over until it started to click. What was once so forign to me, now, I couldnt imagine not having the satisfaction of cutting blow drying & completing the finished look. Fast forward to 2020, the world went crazy, we were stuck at home and our next greatest adventure, my daughter, Shae joined us 🤗. Feeling like I needed add another thing to the mix 😜 I began working at The Salon At Encore Boston Harbor in 2021 where I still currently work a large part of the week. I came to the decision in August of 2024 that being a mom, working two very busy salons, wasnt enough of a challenge…. Which brings us here 😎 September 2024 brings me “Hair by Chelsey” its about time I take all of my experience, knowledge & love of this industry & take a chance on myself. I am SO excited for this new adventure and can’t wait for you to be a part of it. If you got this far, we are going to do great things & if I ever say “long story short” just know theres only a long version so buckle in. I have had extensive training & most current certifications in Master Cutting, Combination Color, Corrective Color, Balyage, formal styling & updos, bridal & special occasion makeup, & Bellami Hair extensions. I am a firm believer in education & always being current on products & trends. * I work strictly with Bellami Hair Extensions for all my install techniques. I offer hand tied, k-tip, I-tip, micros & tape in installation. If you are booking for an extension service you MUST book for a consultation for an assessment & color match first, where we will customize color, length & what installation type would be most suitable for you. All hair is to be paid up front at the time of ordering. Please allow 7-10 business days for hair to come in between your order & your booking for install.
